Educational Benefits of Chess

There has been a fair amount of research into the educational benefits of chess. Much of that is work in collated or summarised on this helpful website.

A similarly helpful piece was published by the Kasparov Chess Foundation.

Health Benefits of Chess

In common with other mentally stimulating activities, chess is widely understood to delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, as explained in this article: Checkmate to Alzheimer's.

Should you elect to partner with us, your business will feature in our digital and physical marketing campaigns. We'll be sending multiple emails to previous entrants and physical entry forms will be distributed nationally. Partners will also be allocated space here.

We're expecting to attract around 170 chess players to the Bury St Edmunds town centre from across the region and beyond. The event has an amazing reputation, and often draws a few players from overseas. We even attracted England's number one graded chess player to the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 competitions.

Chess is a game with universal appeal, open to people of all ages and from all walks of life. It is widely understood to be of great educational value, to promote cognitive development and, in common with many brain-games, to help keep people mentally sharp in old age.

By supporting this event, you would not only be helping raise the profile of your organisation but also promoting an activity which has a positive impact on society.
